Spiced Apple Pie

INGREDIENTS…..  makes 6 pie pieces

2 Pie Crusts (Homemade or store bought…see instructions below)

4 Ambrosia Apples

5 Granny Smith Apples

Lemon

Salt

Cinnamon

Sugar / Sugar substitute

Nutmeg

Ground Cloves

Flour

Egg

DIRECTIONS:

Make 2 Pie crusts according to Crisco or Tender flake shortening
or pre-made pie crusts in the frozen section of the grocery store
Heat the Oven 450 degrees spray a pie dish with pam and add bottom crust and bake for 8 – 10 minutes to pre-cook the crust, remove and set aside….

In a large bowl…..chop
4 Ambrosia Apples, 5 Granny Smith Apples
1/2 Lemon juice squeezed, and toss in the apples
1 tsp salt
1 TBsp Cinnamon
1/2 – 3/4 cup Sugar or Monk Fruit (sugar Substitute)
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1/4 tsp Cloves
and set aside to get the juice from the apples watery

add 1/2 cup Maple Syrup, add to pie crust.
Put the top crust on the pie, cut slices to vent it.
1 egg whisked wash and brush over the top crust, sprinkle with a dusting of sugar
bake in preheated Oven 375 for 1 hour
